Effective 24 September 2026 for new accounts. If you already had a Cartland account, this version replaces the previous one on 24 October 2026. Until then, anything in it that gives you more rights applies to you straight away.
1. The key points
- Cartland isn't a shop. When you buy something, you buy it from the store, you pay the store, and your contract for the goods is with the store.
- AI Checkout sets things up; you pay the store. It prepares your basket and delivery options at participating stores, then opens each store's own checkout for you to finish.
- Plans and Credit packs are sold through Apple or Google. Subscriptions renew every month until you cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account. Deleting your Cartland account doesn't cancel them.
- Credits pay for product lookups. Monthly Credits reset at the start of each month. Credits you buy never expire. None of them can be exchanged for money.
- You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- Your legal rights are protected. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under consumer law.
2. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Cartland Technologies Ltd ("Cartland", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17239433), with its registered office at 12 Stonor Road, London, England, W14 8RZ. You can contact us at info@cartland.io.
They apply to the Cartland apps for iPhone and Android, the service behind them at app.cartland.io, and our website cartland.io (together, "Cartland"). You accept them when you create an account. Our Privacy Policy and Refunds & Cancellations page explain how we handle your data and how refunds work. Please read them too.
These terms are written for people using Cartland for their own personal shopping, as consumers.
3. Who can use Cartland
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You may have one account, for your own use. Accounts can't be shared, sold or transferred.
- You can't use Cartland if we've previously closed your account for breaking these terms, unless we agree otherwise.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date. We use it for important messages about your account.
- Keep your password secret. You're responsible for what happens on your account unless it happens because we failed to keep it secure.
- Tell us straight away at info@cartland.io if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- Until you confirm your email address, some features are limited. For example, a free account gets fewer Credits each month.
5. What Cartland does
Cartland helps you keep products from different online stores in one place. You can:
- save products by pasting or sharing a link. We look up the product's name, price, photos and other details from the store's page and from product-data services;
- organise products in Saved, your Cart and Wishlists, with tags, sorting and filters;
- see prices converted into another currency;
- check out at each store, including with AI Checkout at participating stores;
- keep a record of your orders in Order History.
Product information comes from stores
Prices, stock, delivery costs and product details are set by the stores and can change at any time. We try to show them accurately, but a store's own checkout always has the final price and terms. Please check them before you pay.
Currency conversion is a guide
Converted prices use published exchange rates and are shown for comparison only (marked with "≈"). What you actually pay depends on the store and your bank or card provider.
6. Buying from stores
Cartland isn't the seller of anything you buy from a store.
- When you buy something, the contract of sale is between you and that store. Its terms, prices, delivery times and returns policy apply.
- You pay the store directly on its own checkout. Cartland doesn't take payment for your shopping or hold your money.
- Your legal rights about the goods, such as returns, refunds and faulty items, are rights against the store. Our Refunds & Cancellations page explains them.
- We don't control stores and aren't responsible for their goods, prices, delivery or customer service. We're still responsible for our own service (see section 17), and we'll help where we can by sharing what we know about an order.
7. AI Checkout
AI Checkout is included with our Pro and Pro+ plans. It works with stores that support automated checkout, which we show as "AI Checkout Compatible". It isn't available at every store.
How it works
- You choose the items and enter your delivery name, address and phone number.
- You ask us to act for you with each participating store. We send your details and basket to the store, and it creates a basket and checkout for you and quotes delivery options. If you enter a discount code, we ask the store to apply it.
- You review the summary, then tap through to each store's own checkout, where your details are filled in. You check the order and pay the store there.
- For orders you complete, we can show the store's order status and delivery updates.
What you're agreeing to
- You authorise us to send your details to the stores in your cart and set up baskets and checkouts with them in your name, based on what you've chosen. We won't place an order or make a payment for you.
- The details you give us must be accurate and yours to use.
- Stores decide whether to accept your order, what delivery options and prices to offer, and whether a discount code applies. Delivery options, prices and discounts can change before you pay.
- If something goes wrong because we made a mistake, for example sending the wrong details, tell us and we'll help put it right. Section 17 explains our responsibility.
We don't currently offer paying for store orders inside Cartland. If we introduce it, we'll explain how it works and who charges you, and ask you to agree before you use it.
8. Order History and tracking
- Order History is a record for your convenience. It isn't proof of purchase. Your store's confirmation email is.
- Delivery updates come from stores, carriers and tracking services, and may be delayed or wrong.
- Return-by dates are a reminder, not a promise. Where a store has published its return window, we show it and say so. Otherwise we show a 30-day estimate, labelled as ours, which you can change. The store's own returns policy always decides.
9. Plans and subscriptions
Free and paid plans
Cartland has a free plan and paid plans (currently Pro and Pro+). The app shows what each plan includes, and its price, before you buy. Paid plans add AI Checkout and more monthly Credits.
Buying a plan
Plans and Cartland Credit packs are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. When you subscribe, you buy through Apple or Google, which take payment from your App Store or Google Play account, and their terms of purchase also apply. We never ask for your card details for a plan or Credits.
Renewal and cancellation
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. In Cartland, tap "Manage subscription" on your plan and follow the steps; it takes you there to finish. To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel before it renews. Apple asks for at least 24 hours' notice.
- After you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to the free plan.
- Deleting your Cartland account doesn't cancel a subscription. Apple or Google will keep charging you until you cancel it with them.
Older web subscriptions
If you subscribed on the web with a card before plans moved to the App Store and Google Play, that subscription is billed through Stripe, our payment provider. Email us and we'll help you manage or cancel it.
Free trials
If we offer you a free trial, Apple or Google will show you its length and the date you'll first be charged before you confirm. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you'll be charged.
Price changes
If we raise a plan's price, Apple or Google will tell you in advance, and may ask you to agree to it. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it applies.
Missed payments
If a renewal payment fails, paid features (including AI Checkout and your extra Credits) may pause until Apple or Google collect the payment.
Changing plans
You can switch between paid plans through the app. When you switch, the new plan's monthly Credit allowance starts fresh.
Refunds and cancellation rights
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. See our Refunds & Cancellations page for how to ask. When you ask for a plan or Credits to start straight away, you agree that we can start providing them immediately. This doesn't affect any right to cancel or get a refund that you have under the law or under Apple's or Google's terms.
10. Cartland Credits
- What they're for: each successful product lookup uses one Credit. That's when Cartland looks up a product from a link you add to Saved, a Wishlist or Order History. If a lookup doesn't return the product, it doesn't use a Credit. Other features, including AI Checkout, don't use Credits.
- Monthly Credits: each plan includes a monthly allowance, shown in the app (currently 60 on Free, 300 on Pro and 500 on Pro+). Monthly Credits reset at the start of each calendar month (at midnight UTC) and don't roll over.
- Credits you buy: Credit packs bought through Apple or Google never expire. They're used after your monthly allowance runs out, and they stay with your account if you change plan.
- No cash value: Credits can't be exchanged for money, transferred to another account, sold, or used to pay for anything other than Cartland features.
- Refunded purchases: if Apple or Google refund a Credit pack, we remove those Credits from your balance (it won't go below zero).
- Deleting your account: you lose any unused Credits, so use them first.
- If Cartland closes: if we ever decide to close Cartland permanently, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can use your Credits, and tell you how to get a refund for any Credits you've bought but not used.
11. Rewards, referrals and Live Events
Our Rewards Rules are the official rules for the Rewards tab. They set out the details, and this section summarises them.
Referral Race
- You can share your referral code. When another person's Cartland account is linked to it (normally when they sign up with your link or code), your referral count goes up by one. Referral counts don't change what anyone pays.
- The Referral Race leaderboard ranks people by referrals this month and all time. The monthly count resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Once you have a referral, your username and referral counts can appear on the leaderboard (up to 100 people), which other signed-in users can see. See our Privacy Policy.
- Referrals must be genuine. Don't refer yourself, create fake accounts, buy or trade referrals, or spam people with your code. If we reasonably believe referrals aren't genuine, we can remove them or remove you from the leaderboard.
- There's no prize for the Referral Race unless we publish specific rules for it. If we run an event with prizes, its rules will be shown in the app before it starts, including who can enter, how winners are chosen, the closing date and what the prizes are. Those rules will apply alongside these terms. No purchase will be needed to take part, and Apple and Google won't be sponsors of, or involved in, any event.
Coupons
Discount codes that a store applies during AI Checkout may be saved to Prizes so you can find them again. They're the store's codes, so the store's terms and expiry dates apply, and we can't guarantee they'll work.
Cartland balance
Your Cartland balance can only be topped up by a prize we award under published event rules. You can withdraw it to a UK bank account in your name. We check each withdrawal first, as the Rewards Rules explain.
12. Affiliate links
Cartland doesn't currently use affiliate links, so we don't earn a commission when you buy from a store. If we start using them, we'll update these terms first. They'd never change the price you pay.
13. Using Cartland responsibly
Please don't:
- break the law, or use Cartland to commit fraud, or to buy goods you're not legally allowed to buy;
- use someone else's details, or give stores false details;
- try to get into accounts or systems you're not allowed into, or interfere with Cartland's security;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access Cartland, or put an unreasonable load on it;
- copy, sell or resell Cartland or its content, or build a competing service from it;
- reverse-engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows it;
- abuse free plans, trials, Credits or referrals, for example by creating multiple accounts;
- harass or harm anyone, or choose a username or photo that's offensive, misleading, impersonates someone, or infringes someone else's rights.
If you see a username or photo that breaks these rules, tell us at info@cartland.io and we'll look into it.
14. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add to Cartland, such as your username, profile photo, wishlist names, tags and photos. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to run Cartland for you and, for your username, to show it on the leaderboard. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for the reasons in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for making sure you have the right to use anything you upload. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
15. Our app and brand
Cartland, including the app, its design and code, and the Cartland name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, while you follow these terms. Product names, photos and trademarks of stores and brands belong to their owners.
16. Changes to Cartland
We keep improving Cartland, so features may change. We may also need to change or withdraw features because of changes in the law, in how stores or our providers work, or for security reasons.
If a change significantly reduces what you get from a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance where we can. You can cancel your subscription, and if the change takes effect during a period you've already paid for, you can ask us for a refund for the rest of that period. If Apple or Google can't refund an amount we owe you under these terms, we'll pay it to you directly.
We work hard to keep Cartland available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems outside our control.
17. Our responsibility to you
- What we're responsible for. We'll provide Cartland with reasonable care and skill. We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it's obvious it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you started using Cartland.
- What we don't exclude. We don't exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. That includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For example, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.
- Damage to your device. If faulty digital content that we supply damages a device or digital content that belongs to you, we'll either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation. We won't be responsible for damage you could have avoided by following our advice to install a free update, or by meeting minimum system requirements we told you about.
- Stores and other services. We aren't responsible for what stores, carriers, Apple, Google or other third parties do or fail to do, including the goods you buy, their prices and their delivery, except where it's caused by our own failure.
- Personal use. Cartland is for personal use. We're not responsible for business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity.
- Events outside our control. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If one happens, we'll tell you and do what we can to limit the effect.
- Limit. Apart from the liabilities we don't exclude above, our total responsibility to you for all claims connected with Cartland is limited to whichever is higher: £100, or the total you've paid for Cartland plans and Credits in the 12 months before the claim arose.
18. Ending your account
You can leave at any time
Delete your account in the app: Settings → Account details → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Remember to cancel any subscription with Apple or Google first.
When we can suspend or close accounts
We may suspend or close your account, or restrict features, if we reasonably believe that:
- you've seriously or repeatedly broken these terms;
- your account is being used for fraud, abuse or anything illegal, or puts other people or Cartland at risk; or
- we're required to by law or by a regulator.
Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
We may also close Cartland, or your account, for other reasons. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, and we'll refund any amount you've paid in advance for a period you won't receive and any Credits you've bought but not used. If Apple or Google can't make that refund, we'll pay you directly.
19. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms to reflect changes in the law or regulators' guidance, changes to Cartland's features, prices or providers, security needs, or to make them clearer. If a change is significant and affects you, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires it sooner. If you don't agree, you can stop using Cartland, cancel your subscription and delete your account before the change takes effect, and we'll refund any Credits you've bought but not used if you ask us within that notice period. Small changes that don't affect your rights, such as fixing typos, take effect when we publish them.
20. Complaints
If something's gone wrong, email info@cartland.io and tell us what happened. We'll try to put it right quickly. If we can't resolve your complaint, we'll tell you in writing whether an alternative dispute resolution scheme is available and whether we agree to use it. You can always go to court instead (see section 21).
Complaints about how we use your personal data are covered in our Privacy Policy.
21. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring them in Scotland or England and Wales, and if you live in Northern Ireland, in Northern Ireland or England and Wales. If you live in another country, you also keep any protection that the mandatory laws of that country give you, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.
22. App Store and Google Play
If you got Cartland from Apple's App Store
- These terms are between you and Cartland, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Cartland or its content.
- Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app. If it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Cartland.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, subject to these terms.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn't meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile network's terms.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
If you got Cartland from Google Play
Google Play's Terms of Service also apply to your download of the app and to purchases made through Google Play. Google isn't responsible for Cartland or these terms.
23. Other legal terms
- Transfer: we may transfer this agreement to another organisation, for example if Cartland is sold. We'll tell you, and your rights won't be reduced. You can't transfer your rights under these terms without our written agreement.
- Other people's rights: apart from Apple as explained in section 22, no one else has any rights under these terms.
- If a term is invalid: if a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- Delays: if we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- What makes up our agreement: these terms, together with our Privacy Policy, our Refunds & Cancellations page and any published event rules, set out our agreement about Cartland. This doesn't reduce your rights in anything we've told you about Cartland that you took into account when deciding to use it (Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 50).
